This project was challenging for its numerous component features requiring the invention of multiple accessories that would aid the user during multi-day events. We worked as a design team of three, splitting the bike into its major development parts: Cockpit, Frameset, Wheelset.&nbsp; I was responsible for generating final surface cad and design for the complete Frameset and light mounting accessories. The design objective was to acheive a featherweight frame that maximized stiffness leading to reinforced tubes where strength mattered juxtaposed by strikingly svelte tubes&nbsp; reduced to the minimum manufacturable dimensions. &nbsp; sometimes, it costs much less to optimize the accessories around it. Enter the Aerobottle. We sought an aerodynamic hydration solution that would be reverse compatible with the standard bike bottle but remain competitively light, user-friendly, and most importantly, fast.&nbsp; &nbsp; Most of these “jigsaw puzzle” projects are assigned to me due to my background in CE. I was responsible for producing prototype CAD surfaces for use in windtunnel tests. We took these results and designed a bottle cage that would accept both standard round bottles and the Aerobottle. I found inspiration in how a bottle opener retains its grip on a cap and engineered a door that cammed its way into the bike frame. Compliance in the plastic would adsorb the varied tolerances in the carbon frame from 1mm-2.5mm and the frame would bear no mechanical feature other than a hole. Gateways are rented to customers and must be designed to be returned, refurbished and redeployed which makes them unique from the prototypical consumer electronic supply chain. Since Fiber internet is a permanent utility once installed, Gateways are designed with an indefinite lifespan. This project pushed me to work directly with supply chain and mechanical engineering resources to develop a solution innate to the organizations needs. The BGW320s form factor lends to a visually less obtrusive product compared to its predecessor and encourages users to place it above ground and in an open space where its antennas can be at peak performance. AT&amp;T 4921 Network ExtenderLaunched 2018 AC network extending router for AT&amp;T clients The 4921 Extender was the first product I was able to work on shifting AT&amp;Ts hardware language towards a softer and contemporary palette. Our team was part of a goal to develop hardware in-house and create a cohesive brand to encourage users to consider using all three AT&amp;T services. I was the primary designer responsible for concepts, creating CAD, and DFM between 2017 - 2020. From that exhibit, The Basketball Spinner was a particularly difficult engineering exercise on how we would build a machine that could consistently spin a ball on our finger with the familiar simplicity of a microwave oven.
