I am an Industrial Designer with 16 years of experience in developing audio products, home-automation hardware, and currently, composite racing bicycles. I thrive at the intersection between designers and engineers and I gravitate towards solutions that attractively telegraph their purpose.
I spent the first 10 years in consumer electronics, weaving between design, thermodynamics, acoustics, and radio frequency to help teams ship products for Sonos and AT&T. I build a dialog between Engineering and Design teams and have been positioned on the more technical portions of projects such as speaker fascias, antennae and heatsinks. Ideally, the right blend of both design and engineering produces a silhouette that is self-explanitory, functional, yet, inviting.
The values that carried me through CE segue into my current work with Cervelo Bicycles, concepting, prototyping, testing, and producing final cad surfaces for Gravel and Endurance category racing bikes. I work with composite engineers and aerodynamicists to develop products to be fast, light, and resilient in the heat of the race. While I miss the scale and flexibility of CE, I must admit its pretty fun to build up the first prototype frame of your design and take it for a rip around the nearest singletrack.
