HELLO! 안녕하세요!
I am an Industrial Designer with 10 years of experience in developing home automation hardware for businesses, start-ups to enterprise in scale. I gravitate towards solutions that telegraph their definition and function while maintaining a design intent that’s quantifiably efficient to produce.

Also, I’m always happy to just meet for a bike ride.

“You should build things that are more purposeful” ~Dieter Rams

Basketball Spinner

Childhood goal acheived

In 2012, I worked with MFA artist Jesse Chorng to execute on his concepts around revisiting unmet childhood goals and replacing skill with machines. From that exhibit, The Basketball Spinner was a particularly difficult engineering exercise on how we would build a machine that could consistently spin a ball on our finger with the familiar simplicity of a microwave oven.
Its function briefly caught the attention of Dieter Rams during his visit to Los Angeles in 2013 to which he wryly critiqued:

“you should design things that are more useful”
